Musician Biographies

Gerry Greer -- Recorders, curtal, krumhorn, rackett. Gerry has played with the Gate Band at Renaissance Faire for six years and is an active performer and arranger. He was previously artistic director of the St. John's Pro Musica Antiqua. Retired as a quality control supervisor with the Sacramento County Department of Welfare, he currently arranges and plays Big Band music..

Billie Hamilton -- Recorders, shawm, krumhorn, cornamuse, viola da gamba. Billie has played recorder since the age of 16 and is a founder of the Sacramento Recorder Society as well as River City Renaissance Band. A retired school teacher, she gives private lessons and works for peace.

Alex Ives -- Recorders, Krumhorn, Rauschpfief, Percussion Harp. Alex has played recorders with a vengeance since joining the Sacramento Recorder Society in 1998. She has played other instruments with varying degrees of success since childhood. A retired legislative aide, she currently studies harpsichord and Italian, tries to play the bagpipes and travels whenever she gets the chance.
Dorothy Orolin -- Recorders, Sackbut, Krumhorn, Viola da Gamba. Dorothy became interested in early music through the Society of Ancient Instruments as a teenager. She is the musical conscience of the group, reminding all of the importance of text. Dorothy earns a living as a social worker.
