Harpsichord

Past performances

The harpsichord we use for most performances was rescued from a dumpster.

John Pronko, who plays recorders and mandolin, had been looking for a home in the Lake Tahoe area. One home he looked at had a harpsichord in the house.

As it turned out, they didn't purchase the house, but did purchase another house in the same area. Walking around the neighborhood a few months after they moved in, they noticed a dumpster in front of the house that had been home to the harpsichord, and the harpsichord was in the dumpster.

John rescued it and with the help of a restorer from the bay area was able to make it into a playable instrument.
